Description:
The Advertising Sales Director manages all advertising aspects of the Chic Galleria magazine platform. The initial primary responsibilities are to source, negotiate, close, and support, brand advertisers within the platform.
Responsibilities include:
Identify and prospect online brand advertising opportunities, through drawing upon existing industry contacts and/or cold calling.
· Generate new advertising sales through direct solicitation of businesses and organizations. Provide timely follow up on all advertising inquiries, and maintain availability by telephone and email to clientele.
· Follow up on all advertising inquiries in a timely manner, and keep a log of all contacts made/outcomes of those interactions including persons to whom contact was made and date as well as e-mail and/or phone number of each contact.
· Manage both existing and new accounts with the same degree of professionalism.
· If necessary, work with customer and web design manager to coordinate ad designs and copy. Deliver final ad proofs to clients for approval. Verify that all final ads have been emailed to the Editor-In-Chief prior to the advertising copy deadline.
· Maintain and post a list of all ads booked for the current and future issues, including client name, size and type of ad.
· Coordinate with the Editor-in-Chief to complete billings, including statements, to all clients prior to each weekly publication. All billings will go directly through the websites Paypal account.
· Provide weekly updates of activity and projected ad space for each issue to the Editor-in-Chief. Coordinate ad placement for each issue with the Editor-in-Chief.
Manage existing advertisers and ensure they meet performance objectives.
Assist in advancing the design of Chic Galleria magazine’s targeted advertising platform.
Hire, train and manage sales account associates to meet sales objectives as the sales platform grows. (in the future)
Work cross-functionally with development, marketing, finance and product management to achieve corporate objectives.
Handle service, payment, reporting and fulfillment requirements for all advertisers and build best practices.
Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, demonstrating focused sales efforts, understanding the business model, as well as understanding of the internet advertising environment.
Requirements:
1+ years of online ad sales experience, including managing a sales team, particularly with women lifestyle properties (especially email newsletters.)
Strong relationships with existing advertising brands, particularly Fortune 500 women’s lifestyle brands.
Solid understanding of online advertising and marketing, including pricing structures.
Experience identifying and closing new advertising opportunities.
Ability to think ‘outside the box’ to bring new and compelling business opportunities.
Demonstrated record of success in a goal oriented, highly accountable sales environment.
Proven success in developing long-term strategic relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or cross functionally to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
A self starter who is able to handle multiple projects and campaigns and thrives in a loose, fast-paced environment.
Sharp, strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
