This is about a week old, and I apologize for not finding it sooner but I still think it’s worth posting. this is a fashion magazine job and not an internship. Harpers Bazaar is looking for a second assistant to the editor in chief (I’m thinking Anne Hathaway in the Devil Wears Prada) to do all the grunt work.
Hearst Magazines is looking for a “Second Assistant” to the Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine.
Candidates must be: Extremely detail-oriented, highly organized, efficient and energetic. Must be able to anticipate situations and offer preemptive solutions, able to coordinate professional and personal calendars, feel comfortable interacting with high-profile personalities, and have excellent phone manner and etiquette. Must possess presentation skills and have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must be excellent at multi-tasking and work well under pressure/deadlines. Must have a positive can-do attitude. This position will be 100% administrative.The 2nd assistant is responsible for booking Ms. Bailey extensive travel requirements, scheduling all appointments, preparing materials necessary for Ms. Bailey’s meetings, updating minis, writing thank you’s, sorting and processing invitations, managing interns, fielding staff and phone calls, creating and submitting expense reports, maintaining library, scheduling cars, correspondence, etc.
Looking for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience working in an extremely fast paced environment (consumer magazine experience a plus), and knowledge of fashion.
