Shiny Media Wants A Fashion Editor

December 27, 2007 in Fashion Magazine by DFJ Admin

This is UK based, and apparently it’s not telecommute.  But it looks like a great opportunity for someone across the pond!

Shiny Media is looking for a fashion editor for its flagship fashion site, Catwalk Queen (www.catwalkqueen.tv) which gets over 300,000 unique users a month. Applicants must have previous experience of editing an online magazine and an in-depth knowledge of the world of fashion. Experience of using Movable Type, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Elements (or other photo and video editing software), and a bulging address book filled with fashion contacts (both PRs and other online fashion editors) are essential. You’ll need a firm understanding of how to work with online communities, including social networking sites and social bookmarking sites and you’ll be expected to keep up to date with all developments in Web 2.0 technologies.

We’re looking for someone experienced at managing writers, commissioning pieces and writing fast, funny copy for a fast-paced fashion blog. You’ll need to be comfortable in front of a camera, and an understanding of how to edit videos and upload content to a variety of sites is a must. The ideal person is organised, adept at building internal and external relationships. You’ll be working from our central London offices in Covent Garden, with a group of young, talented bloggers and writers for one of the fastest growing and exciting online publishing companies in the UK.

Applicants should be educated to degree level. A journalism qualification is highly desirable.

Please send your CV along with a covering letter telling us more about yourself, along with your blog address (if you have one) and some samples of your work.

You must be available for interview on the 3rd or 4th January 2008. Closing date is noon on 2nd January 2008.

Salary: 20,000 GBP
