MA – CAD Intern at a New Boutique Label

November 17, 2009 in Non NY/LA, Technical by kimberly

Are you interested in learning about starting your own label?

Do you have proficiency in pattern making and fashion CAD software?

I’m directing the launch of a new clothing line for men, based out of Boston, MA (http://menofstature.com). We’re family owned and family run. Currently in the early stages of starting up. I’m offering a paid internship for a skilled design student to help in the pattern making process. Part-time, flexible hours, work remotely over the course of 5 weeks.

What you’d be working on:
Creating digital patterns of men’s shirts in Gerber
Conducting market research (aka, shopping)
Lending a youthful, fresh perspective to the conversation
What do you get in return?
A “feet in the water” experience of what it’s like to start a fashion label
A mentorship in business, marketing, and building a brand
A $100 stipend that will paid at the end of 5 weeks
Special requests? This opportunity is what you make of it…
To apply, email the following to yifei@menofstature.com :
A short description of yourself, your experience in pattern making, and whether you have access to software
A short description of your interests/goals in fashion and how we might help you achieve them
A resume
(optional, but encouraged) A portfolio of previous work
(optional, but encouraged) Any websites that show off your unique personality (your blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

We look forward to hearing from you!
