How To Start A Clothing Line
October 21, 2007 in Fashion Design, Freelance Fashion by DFJ Admin

I’m always surfing the web for other good fashion industry related sites, and unfortunately I don’t come across too many. I did find this instructional eBook for those interested in starting a clothing line. Actually, it’s called How To Start A T Shirt Line. Okay, T Shirts aren’t the most fashion forward item but it’s a good way to start and with little investment.
Here are a few of the things covered in the book….
- Step by step guide to creating a business plan
- Branding your company, and corporate identity
- Legal information for fashion & design (trademarks, copyright, etc)
- What equipment and inventory you need and where to get it
- How to license your brand and earn more
- Getting your company online without spending extra money
The great thing is the methods in this book can be applied to all sorts of apparel and not just T Shirts.
I’m really glad this is in eBook form because I’m pretty impatient and I don’t like to wait! The eBook isn’t free but the information makes it worth the price. These are the kind of things you learn either by going to school for fashion or by trial and error (which results in losing money).
