Lead: “Amarcord Vintage Fashion Intern for Archive / Showroom”

Body: Amarcord Vintage Fashion® is a company dedicated to upscale European vintage clothing and accessories from the 1940’s to the 1980’s, featuring famous labels as well as undiscovered manufacturers. Amarcord’s collection is well over 100,000 and the Company’s work and collection have been hailed as the best vintage in NYC. Amarcord’s properties include a rental-only showroom and archive, as well as two New York retail locations and several e-commerce avenues.

Amarcord interns will expand their knowledge of the vintage market, from the perspective of retailer, wholesaler, and archivist. They will also be provided with the chance to witness the behind-the-scenes creative process for designers and editors/ stylists. Additional knowledge of merchandising, visual concepts, fabrics and more will also be at their fingertips.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Archive/showroom maintenance; product organization and restoration
· Administrative work
· Assisting in merchandising and vintage rentals
· Assist with PR/ Marketing duties, including social media and blogging outreach

Requirements:
PC knowledge
Creative communication skills, written and oral
Must be dependable, hard-working, and organized
Sense of style and previous visual merchandising experience a plus
Internet savvy – knowledge of fashion/ style blogs, websites, web magazines
Awareness of current trends and fashion news
Available at least twice a week for a minimum of 3 hours a day and able to commit for at least a 3-month period

The internship is unpaid, but days and hours are flexible. It is an exciting atmosphere offering the chance to interact with some of the best names in fashion and provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the creative process behind-the-scenes in terms of design and editorial research and seeing historic pieces on a daily basis.
